Day 8: Popsicle Stick Snowman & Santa

Here is another use for Popsicle sticks

What You Need:

Popsicle Sticks
Hot Glue Gun
White and White Paint
Orange Felt
Black Permanent Marker
Black Buttons
Cotton Ball
Red Ribbon

I really liked how these two came out, it was a little trial and error to figure out how I was going to make the Santa one.

To Make the Snowman you need 8 Popsicle sticks, cut on in half, this will be for the back to hold the sticks together. Lay 6 Popsicle sticks side by side and with another Popsicle stick hold diagonal and mark where you need to cut off.

Glue the 6 sticks to the the half of sticks and glue the one you marked diagonal on the sticks. Paint the top part black and the bottom white.

For the face you can either paint or draw it on with a permanent marker or use buttons for eyes and felt to make the nose. I used permanent marker to make the dotted mouth.

I added a red ribbon to the hat, you can if you like or paint one on. Don’t for get to add a ribbon so you can hang it on the tree.

To Make Santa you need 9 Popsicle sticks, just like snowman one will be cut in half to hold the sticks together. Lay 6 Popsicle sticks side by side and with another Popsicle stick lay across and mark off what needs to be cut off. With the last one cut it half for the hat.

Glue the 6 sticks to the the half of sticks, using two half sticks glue them making a triangle on top, and glue the one across that. Once that dries, trim off the sticks so it looks like a triangle.

Paint the triangle part red and the stick across white and paint on a beard. For the rest of the face you can paint on or draw on, I used buttons for the eyes and drew a nose and mouth with a permanent marker.

Finish him off by gluing on a cotton ball on the top and add a ribbon to hang on the tree.

***I will add a picture of it hanging in my tree once my tree is set up.***
